NFL Europe

NFL Europe is often not as well known as the NFL but yes there was an NFL Europe. it began in 1989 when the NFL decided to introduce a new league, they did this as american football was growing in Europe and people wanted an nil team. There where Europe teams and there where north american teams. But these not american teams where often not as good as regular nil teams and had very little funding. The european teams where similar. The problem with europina teams was that the teams had very little european players but where mainly made up of american players. The leauge lasted till 2007 and these are the teams.

NFL Relocation

Every once in a while NFL teams pack there bags and decide to relocate. This can be caused by many reasons the main reason is because most NFL teams are privately owned with means the owner has the design weather to move. they can be influenced by the amount of money in the city/state. For example the Oakland raiders and the saint lois rams both want to relocate to L.A which has been without a team for 20 years.

The teams want to move as Los Angeles is the second most wealthy state in the country and this means these teams would realistically make a larger income then they previously did. Another reason teams try to relocate is lack of fans or there are more fans of a certain team in a certain place then where they are already. More fans means more merchandise bought, more tickets sold and ultimately leads to a large income from a fan base. Another large reason for teams to move are the stadiums. As you can guess a 90,000 seat stadium is not cheap to build or to re furbish but if there is a stadium not being used and is better than your stadium you are bound to want to try and get it.

Teams and fan bases

In the NFL it is split into 32 different teams, these teams are broken down into two conferences the AFC and the NFC these teams are placed into the conferences by where the team is located in america. These conferences are then broken down even further into divisions there is the NFC South, the NFC north, the AFC west, the AFC east and so on. Each division has 4 teams these 4 teams states are usually close together. The team with the most wins in that division goes to the playoffs and then the team that has the most wins in the season but have not won the division also get in. This is called the wild card. then it is nock out stages.

History of American Football

American Football originates from the popular sport Rugby football.
Rugby, like American football, is a sport where two competing teams try to get control of a ball, which can be kicked through a set of goalposts or run into the opponent's goal.

The first American football game was played on November 6, 1869 between Rutgers and Princeton, each team was made up of 25 players. It resembled a combination of rugby and soccer in its rules; the ball could not be picked up or carried, but it could be kicked or batted with the feet, hands, head or sides, with the aim of getting the ball into the other teams goal.

William Heffekfingers was the first professional player and was given 500 dollars to play a game between Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club.

The 1932 Playoff game was the main turning point of the american football era. in this game hash marks where into juiced and the illegal forward pass rule was invented.

Scoring was also different, back in 1883 a touchdown was worth 2 points, a conversion was worth 4, and a field goal was worth 4. Now a days a touchdown is worth 6 points, a conversion is worth 1 and a field goal is worth 3. In my opinion a prefer the old way.
